PARKINSON’S DISEASE TREATMENT

At S2S, we have physical therapists certified in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment-BIG therapy (LSVT-BIG).  

LSVT BIG® is a standardized treatment protocol for individuals with Parkinson’s disease (PD) and other neurological conditions.  This treatment is customized to the unique goals of each patient targeting both gross and fine motor skills. LSVT BIG can be adapted or progressed in order to meet each patient’s needs across a range of disease severity and presenting impairments. Participating in standardized physical therapy implementing LSVT-BIG may also slow the progression of the disease. 

This is an evidence based approach designed to help our patients with Parkinson’s Disease improve their balance, writing, buttoning, faster and bigger steps while walking, rising safely from a chair and more.
