Pelvic Health Treatment:

POST PARTUM TREATMENT

Seeing a pelvic floor physical therapist during the postpartum period can be immensely helpful. While seeking evaluation and treatment during the immediate postpartum period is optimal, it is never too late to address any of these concerns.

Post partum PT can address incontinence, prolapse, urinary hesitancy, constipation, painful scar tissue from episiotomy or tearing, diastasis rectus abdominus, management of cesarean scars, and pain in any part of the body most commonly the neck, mid back, low back, pelvis, and hips.

One does not necessarily have to experience any of these symptoms to consult with a physical therapist in the post partum period. A PT can provide a thorough assessment and provide education on how to avoid pelvic floor dysfunction in the future and appropriate return to exercise.
