Staying healthy has taken on a new meaning this year! Not only does staying healthy mean being free of illness, but it also encompasses prioritizing your mental, physical, and spiritual health daily. To be healthy is to be whole – mind, body, and soul. Ask yourself, what have you done this year for your health?
When it comes to the end of the year, I always like to take time to reflect. Looking back on 2020, I am thankful for many graces that came out of the challenges this year brought. I learned to spend more time outside, visited with my grandparents via Zoom, explored new destinations hiking, and I even bought a food processor to experiment with making homemade almond butter and hummus. These small but important steps have allowed me to continue to grow on my health journey, despite the new challenges our world has faced this year.
The end of the year is also an optimal time to set goals. After taking time to reflect, we should direct our attention to what lies ahead! Take the opportunity to ask yourself…am I taking time to care for my spiritual, mental, and physical health? If the answer to any of the above is no, then ask yourself…what is one concrete step I can take in 2021 to improve my health? Start small. All it takes is one step in the right direction to further your health journey.
Here at S2S, we have learned over our 15-year history that we are able to reach and achieve our goals more successfully when we are not doing it alone. Whether you need guidance, accountability, support, or wisdom rooted in the latest evidence and years of experience…S2S Functional Performance is here to help you be successful.
To further my health and fitness journey in 2021 and follow the evidence that “To be healthy is to be whole”… I am setting a goal to make more time to take Pilates classes. I love the joy and energy I find when taking classes. My body always feels better after and I am inspired and encouraged by the people surrounding me! I want to experience that feeling more!
